ANGRY DAD DEMANDS COMPENSATION AFTER ICE CREAM MELTS WAITING FOR FOLKESTONE TAXI
A Folkestone dad claims he had to chuck out half of his Asda shopping after his taxi’s “one hour” delay caused his food to defrost in sweltering heat. Melvin Lee, 40, says he was waylaid with eight bags of gro- ceries, which in- cluded ice cream and frozen vegeta-
bles, from a shop- ping centre on bank holiday Monday, August 26. He dialled for Folke- stone Taxis to come and get him, his girl- friend Clare Rogers, and eight-month- old baby Edward in a pushchair on a day when temperatures were around 27 degrees.

CROYDON PH DRIVER USED FAKE BLUE BADGE TO AVOID PAYING TO PARK
A private hire driver who used a fake blue badge to park in Croydon has been fined hundreds of pounds. Josh Elvin used a fake badge to avoid paying to park his Toyota Auris on Derby Road and Leighton Street in January 2019. MyLondon reports that Croydon Coun- cil officers spotted the badge and recognised tell-tale signs that it was counterfeit.
