TOYOTA INVESTS FURTHER $500 MILLION IN ELECTRIC AIR TAXI STARTUP JOBY
Toyota has doubled down on its investment in Joby Aviation, an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) startup, with a new $500 million commitment. This brings Toyota’s
total
investment in Joby to $894 million. The funding will support the certi- fication and commercial prod- uction of Joby’s planned air taxi. The two companies have been collaborating for nearly seven years. Joby has recently completed its third eVTOL craft and is building another assembly facility.
