NEWS

Digital future for Information Professional will bring new content

INFORMATION Professional is changing, with a shift to fully digital content from 2026. We know that CILIP’s magazine is a much-loved part of your membership and that is down to the value of the content within it. From thought-leadership and in-depth analysis to sector insight and news, Information Professional has been proud to deliver the best coverage for librarians, information professionals and knowledge managers from all sectors. And as we move forward, we will continue to deliver that same great coverage – this time directly to your inbox. CILIP’s digital transformation work, which is seeing new sys-

tems implemented across the organisation – including plans for a new website, will allow Information Professional to develop new ways of delivering content to you. Moving to fully digital delivery will also allow us to be much more agile, helping you to stay on top of the latest news and events. In addition to the six regular digital issues of Information Professional, it means there will be more news on the CILIP web- site and a regular podcast series – with the first episode out now. Listen to Jess Pembroke, Director of Information Law Services at Naomi Korn Associates, and Information Professional Editor Rob Green host Episode One of The Info Pro Podcast, where they look at policy, ethics and privacy issues that Libraries need to be thinking about when embarking on their AI journey. Joining Jess and Rob on the first episode Dr Andrew Cox, Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, who will be discussing his Survey Re- port, AI and the UK Library Profession. You can listen to the first episode on Spotify at https://tinyurl.com/IPPodcastEp1. The move will also help CILIP continue its sustainability jour-

ney, reducing carbon emissions through reduced paper usage and fewer emissions from delivery. As a founding partner in the Green Libraries Campaign, CILIP is committed to reducing its environ- mental impact where it can. Cutting out printing and delivery costs will also have a positive impact on CILIP’s financial sustainability, helping to ensure we have strong foundations for the future. Information Professional, which remains an exclusive bene-

fit for members and subscribers, has already moved to a hybrid digital/physical production model with four print issues and two digital published this year, with the next digital issue due to be published in December.
