Some of the sensory books and objects available.
We worked on more inclusive guiding and signage with symbols to support, and on making the space accessible and welcom- ing to all.
The launch afternoon was a huge suc- cess, we had interesting speakers and a range of visitors from schools that both knew us and those that didn’t as well as other professionals in the field and senior managers. Our feedback has been consist- ently good, and staff were surprised with the range of resources and expertise that
they could tap into through the service. We are now at a point where we are trying to further spread the word and work with potential new schools and alternative pro- vision settings or SENCOs in mainstream schools to help support SEND learners as best we can.
Summary
I know I can speak for everyone involved when I say that though this process has been a huge task, it has been utterly joyful
to be involved. We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work on something that is special and meaningful, and we feel proud of what we have achieved. We have all learnt a great deal from the experience and are now keen to maintain that learning and keep moving forward with our development. We hope to work with more SEND settings and continue to develop our offer and expertise and intend to continue to invest in new appropriate resources. IP
