Busy Parents have embraced Auto Renew, Membership Programs, and Same Day Delivery/Pickup
Time starved parents are seeking any opportunity to make their everyday lives easier, taking advantage of the time and money savings associated with Auto Renew and Membership programs as well as utilizing same day delivery/pick up options for quick and fill in trips.
“31% of Households with Children indicate participating in Auto Ship programs, almost double the rate among Households without Children, at 16%. For Membership programs, participation is 8 points higher – 54% for Households with Children and 46% for Households without Children” notes Catlin.
Also evident is a shift in how Households with Children receive their orders: “In 2019, 2 Day + Delivery was the dominant fulfillment type for online orders by Households with Children, at 58% of total” notes Catlin “By 2024, 2 day + delivery has declined to only 15% of total, replaced by Immediate/Same Day Delivery and Same Day Curbside Pickup at 56% of total”.
