NEWS ROUND-UP 3Sixty to unveil first physical stores at DFW


3Sixty Duty Free (formerly known as DFASS Group) is to implement its first physical installations under the new branding at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) Terminals A and C, TRBusiness can reveal exclusively. Speaking to TRBusiness this issue (p41),


Donna Maxwell, Senior Vice President, Global Retail Practices said: “You will see our first 3Sixty Duty Free physical installations in DFW this year. It will reflect our brand strategy. “We are excited to see our new 3Sixty


brand come to life in one of the largest airports in the US.” The new Terminal A and Terminal C


stores – both terminals only serve American Airlines flights – will take the form of hybrid duty free stores appealing to international and domestic passengers. “Due to a high mix of domestic


passengers in these terminals, our curated assortment will appeal to these shoppers, along with an assortment of


core duty free offerings including liquor, tobacco, fragrances, cosmetics, fashion and confectionery.” “The store design is innovative and


adaptable based on ever-changing passenger needs.” The company has increased its ground


store locations by around 40% over the last 18 months. Prior to 2017, its primary


locations were in DFW, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. But since then, the company has secured new contracts in airports such as Charlotte, Nashville and Pittsburgh. It also operates duty free/duty paid


concessions at Chicago O’Hare, Newark, Orlando, Ottawa and Philadelphia. Later this year, it will expand its footprint at Fort Lauderdale with three new inline stores.


Dufry wins duty free concession on Carnival Panorama


Dufry Group will operate the duty free and tax free concession onboard Carnival Cruise Line’s (CCL) new mega cruise ship Carnival Panorama. The travel retail giant will present the


cruise line’s largest retail space at sea to date on the 4,008-passenger Vista-class ship when it sets sail from Long Beach Cruise Terminal, California on 11 December. Dufry emerged victorious from a tightly


fought tender involving multiple bidders, it is understood. The win adds to its stable of CCL ships,


which include Carnival Inspiration, Sensation and Valor. Specific details on the number of Dufry-


operated shops, their sizes and retail configurations were not immediately available, but CCL Vice President Retail Services William Butler confirms the vessel will include a few ‘firsts’ at sea. “The shops are larger than Carnival


Horizon and we’ve got some extended footprints that spill out into the atrium that will allow us to further interact with the guests as they are enjoying the entertainment onboard our ship,” he said. “We also have new brands and

experiences coming onboard to bring the space to life. I was so thrilled to watch Carnival Horizon last year and at the


time you think you can’t get any better than this… we have to better ourselves somehow and we’ve got some great new ideas that we’ll be bringing out and sharing in more detail this summer.” Guests can peruse a number of


categories on the 15-deck, 133,500-ton ship, from beauty, watches and fine jewellery (Effy Jewelry) to liquor, fashion, accessories and several CCL experiential retail concepts such as Cherry on Top. The past 12 months have been busy


for the flagship brand of publicly traded Carnival Corporation. In April, Starboard Cruise Services
