SUMMIT OF THE AMERICAS New venue and new format for 2019
Both exhibitors and visitors to this year’s Summit of the Americas will be anxious to see how the new venue compares with the Orlando Marriott and if their feedback from last year’s event has been taken on board. Charlotte Turner reports.
L
ast year, the inaugural Summit of the Americas boasted an impressive speaker line-up –
including Dufry CEO, Julián Díaz – which successfully translated into a robust program of Executive Conference Sessions. In attempt to create a greater
distinction between the IAADFS Americas show of previous years – and in response to feedback from exhibitors and visitors – the organisers have moved this summit to a new venue; the Hyatt Regency Orlando. The organisers assure TRBusiness
that the new site will not only provide delegates with greater accessibility to shops, bars and restaurants – within five minutes walk – but will also help to prevent meetings from occurring outside of the exhibition hall or ‘trade area’. This year, the schedule of events
has been tweaked slightly, with the three morning conference sessions to take place between 08.30-10.00 (rather than end at 10.30 as they did last year). The exhibition hall or trade area
will open once the sessions are over, meaning that the show’s new opening hours will be 10.00-18.00. Regarding this year’s conference
component, IAADFS and ASUTIL have once again attracted high quality speakers, covering a broad range of topics.
