Allegro Senior Living, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., announced the addition of three new communities to its portfolio. The communities, located in Alpharetta, Buck- head, and Marietta, Ga., will adopt Alle- gro’s new brand, Alto Senior Living, which represents assisted living and memory care communities under Allegro management.


Waltham, Mass.-based Benchmark opened Whisper Woods at Smithtown, the compa- ny’s first community in New York. Located on Long Island, the community features 101 residences including 71 for independent liv- ing and 30 for memory care.


Brightview Senior Living, based in Balti- more, Md., has started construction on the eight-story Brightview Bethesda Woodmont community in Bethesda, Md. The commu- nity will feature 112 apartments, including 91 for assisted living and 21 for memory care. The new community will mark Bright- view’s 40th community since 1999 and is expected to be completed by summer 2019.


Irvine, Calif.-based HCP and Atria Senior Living, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., an- nounced an agreement to transition manage- ment of 24 senior living communities from Brookdale Senior Living to Atria. The transi- tions began in March 2018 and are expected to be completed by September 2018.


Seattle, Wash.-based Merrill Gardens an- nounced two central Florida communities are now under its management. Originally developed under the names Volterra at Soli- vita Marketplace in Kissimmee and Volter- ra at ChampionsGate in ChampionsGate, the communities have been renamed Merrill Gardens at Solivita Marketplace and Merrill Gardens at ChampionsGate. Merrill Gar- dens at Solivita Marketplace offers 212 res- idences and Merrill Gardens at Champions- Gate offers 223 apartments for independent living, assisted living, and memory care.


Chicago, Ill.-based Pathway to Living, ac- quired the community formerly known as Elmcroft of Kentwood in Kentwood, Mich.


Based in Taylorsville, Utah, Western States Lodging broke ground on its third community in the Phoenix area with Legacy Village of Salt River. The community will offer 215 residences and is expected to open in early 2019.


The community, which has been rebranded as Azpira Place of Breton, is the first Path- way property in Michigan. Azpira Place of Breton offers 81 residences including 69 for assisted living and 12 for memory care.


Ventas, headquartered in Chicago, Ill., has transitioned management of 76 se- nior living communities to Eclipse Senior Living, a new operator. The Ventas-owned assets were previously leased by Elmcroft Senior Living.


Americare, based in Sikeston, Mo., ac- quired two assisted living communities in west Tennessee: NorthCliff includes 28 as- sisted living residences and Heritage Place includes 24 residences.


Arena, headquartered in Baltimore, Md., announced a partnership with Benchmark designed to strengthen Benchmark’s recruit-


ing and retention efforts. Arena cites a 100% success rate in improving retention across more than 450 health care communities.


Ft. Worth, Texas-based Civitas Senior Living announced plans for a new community, The Views at Lake Havasu, located in Lake Ha- vasu, Ariz. A groundbreaking for the com- munity, which will offer 92 residences, took place in January 2018. Additionally, the company announced development plans for Grandview of Chisholm Trail, a new 89-resi- dence community southwest of downtown Ft. Worth.


Creative Strategies, based in Louisville, Ky., unveiled a new company name— Vita-Stat LCC. The new name comes with a rebranding of the company’s website, logo, and other marketing materials. Vita-Stat is the developer of ACCUflo and statDISPENSE.
