The colourful Hôtel de Cambis in Avignon

Taking colour-coordination to the next level, Hôtel de Cambis reopens its doors in Avignon after a four-year renovation. Set amid the remarkably well-preserved medieval fortifications, the elegant manor offers the ideal base from which to explore the City of Popes. Due to its location along the Côtes-du-Rhône route, the 41-rooms were decorated playing on the transparency and reflection of wine colours. Hôtel de Cambis also features a bar-lounge, L’Orsan, highlighting the wines of Provence. For an informal meal, room service is provided by the starred chef Laurent Azoulay, with his Bokal offer of healthy and tasty ready-made dishes. www.hoteldecambis.com
