efore we started working with SAMpeople, individual academies were using SIMs and a range of spreadsheets. With no Trust-wide
solution in place, we would have had to contact the academy for individual details. Each academy had to complete a monthly statistic return, which was time consuming and not consistently reported. We needed an organisation-wide approach that provided access from anywhere at anytime.
Providing essential information to make decisions
SAMpeople has helped us to have a Trust-wide overview of all staff. We are now consistent with our case management and have the data to make decisions. Getting Trust-wide data will enable us to strategi- cally identify issues early and to put solu- tions in place which will reduce the cost and impact on the organisation. It will also show whether initiatives are working, such as wellbeing plans to support staff.
Hopefully this will reduce time-consuming tasks. A reduction in the amount of time spent on admin will enable us to refocus this time on activities that benefit all staff. Template letters and file compliance will also help to improve our processes. The compliance section will be able to identify gaps once we have data entered and
templates will support accuracy and show who can see files.
Production of case reports based on data entered is efficient and shows a full history of the issues. This has enabled cases to be managed more successfully. Data also helps with the tracking of individuals as well as having a trust-wide overview with benchmarking to show areas of concern. Headteachers review their dashboards as part of their governance review days with Regional Directors. This term they will be focussing on their Academy People Plans using SAMpeople data to focus on the plan requirements.
Links with school systems
SAMpeople is innovative because it integrates with SIMs and has full service for a member of staff through their portal. The portal improves communications and is an essential tool to demonstrate how we value staff.
FACE-Ed the recruitment module has also enabled us to track live campaigns right across the Trust and also to provide schools with the ability to be involved. The approval process makes budget sign off auditable and the ability to create application packs for shortlisting / interview panels saves an immense amount of time. SAMpeople and then to SIMs creates a single-entry point, reducing time and improving the accuracy of records. This also supports dashboard data analysis as all issues are visible in one place. Having the data supports our recruitment strategies and enables us to have a more targeted response.
FACE-Ed has helped us meet and track Safeguarding requirements, it ensures compliance for every new starter through the tracking of document return and validation.
