Practical Ethics and Responsibility Competition 2022

Run by Oxford University’s Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, this competition is open to students in Years 11, 12 and 13. Teams of between three and fi ve people can submit a video of up to four minutes about an ethical dilemma. Last year’s winning Bancroft Team are pictured. Judging will be based on the strength, clarity and originality of the arguments made. Four winning teams will be invited to Oxford in March 2022 to take part in a day of competition and an introduction to philosophy. Cash prizes will be made to the fi rst and second place teams. Design Ventura is a design and enterprise challenge, supported by industry professionals. Students in groups of between four and six can submit designs for a new product to be sold at the Design Museum shop. The programme is supported by free workshops, teacher CPD and visits to the Design Museum. It offers young people the chance to develop design thinking, creative and business skills, and can be run as an extra-curricular activity and used towards CREST awards or Arts Mark. Send My Friend To School


Applications for Campaign Champions programme by January 2022


Year 9 and 10 pupils


Send My Friend To School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education, which works to ensure quality education for children around the world. The campaign is looking for students to join its established Campaign Champions programme. One teacher and two students from participating schools will take part in bespoke training, with students taking the campaign message to the heart of government, meeting with MPs and ministers, as well as running local actions and events. Rotary Young Environmentalist 2022

Pupils aged between 7 and 17


This competition encourages young people to interact with the environment by addressing problems and exploring solutions. Project entries should present a balanced viewpoint exhibiting understanding of an environmental issue, and showcase an innovative new solution. There are three age categories: junior (7 to 10 years), intermediate (11 to 13 years) and seniors (14 to 17 years). Entries can be submitted from teams or individuals. RHS Campaign for School Gardening

All school pupils The RHS Campaign for School Gardening supports schools in providing children with gardening opportunities to enhance their skills and boost their development. Registration is free and schools will receive a welcome pack containing seeds, plant labels and posters as well as access to free downloadable resources.
