TIWW & CE Taiwan 2020 successfully promote ESG and 5R Concepts

Organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan International Water Week and Circular Economy Taiwan (TIWW & CE Taiwan 2020) ended successfully on the 26th of September. Although international buyers could not come to Taiwan due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, there were still more than 1,000 domestic professional buyers present at the venue, including well-known industry players such as TSMC, Hon Hai, Taiwan Sugar, Formosa Plastics, Taiwan Microsoft, etc. As the environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the 5R (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover) criteria for environmental protection are in the limelight, this trade show is meant to lead Taiwan's industry players to move towards transformation by showcasing innovative water technologies and green energy recycling trends.

Exhibits included a variety of innovative application products capitalising on data analysis and remote monitoring technologies, such as smart water meters, smart water quality detectors, and wastewater recycling membrane filtration technologies, with those booths attracting many visitors. For example, GSD Technologies’ booth, which showcased three main themes (namely smart water systems, flat membrane bioreactors and air suspension bearing centrifugal blowers) based on smart water treatment and AI technologies,

was always crowded with visitors; likewise the Advantech booth was popular, presenting water operation and maintenance management solutions, based on real-time data collection and predictive model calculation control to improve the efficiency of water treatment equipment. Moreover, in the "Industrial Development Bureau’s Circular Economy Theme Pavilion", SHUI-MU International led its partners (namely Yee Chain International, Kun Hung Enterprise, Chang Yang Material, and Taiwan Green Cycle) to sign the "Recycling Footwear Industry Cooperation Agreement" on September 25th, successfully setting up a new business model for industrial recycling.

Exhibitors have shared positive comments on the show. For example, GSD Technologies has highly affirmed the results of this trade show, indicating that TIWW has effectively exposed the competitive advantages of Taiwanese water treatment technologies; UltraE, which has launched the world’s first calibration-free PH measurement instrument, has highly praised TAITRA’s digital services, saying that the online activities have helped UltraE grasp international business opportunities; Strong and Wise Material Tech Company, a first-time exhibitor, has also given extremely positive feedback, expressing that it not only has successfully met upstream and downstream manufacturers and related industry players through this trade show, but has also accurately reached its target customer groups

because the messages sent out by this trade show are so clear.

The launch of "Water Week Middle East Business Opportunity Day" and “One-on-One Procurement Meetings" has succeeded in overcoming travel restrictions to assist exhibitors in negotiating with buyers from a number of countries, such as the Philippines, India, Iraq, Bulgaria, Vietnam, UAE, Bahrain, China, and so on. Among them, the buyers from the Center for Environment and Technology Services in Vietnam, which have participated for 3 consecutive years, expressed high affirmation of the quality of Taiwan products. Meanwhile, the overall drinking water solution presented by exhibitor Crystaline Water Master has been favoured by Iraqi energy companies and is expected to bring in substantial business opportunities. Similarly, Energy Management System, a Taiwanese professional flow meter manufacturer, has also achieved fruitful results in the meetings, which will help the company expand in overseas markets. In addition, the "TIWW X CE Taiwan ON AIR" live show, which aired for the first time on September 25th this year, has been well received and watched by nearly one thousand viewers.

The next edition of TIWW and CE Taiwan will be held at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 on October 14-16, 2021 and hopes to continue creating business opportunities for industry players.
