Summer Modes of Delivery IN-PERSON
CTD offers a variety of flexible and accessible summer options, ranging from commuter to residential, which take place on Northwestern’s Evanston campus, as well as sites around the Chicago area. One to five-week options are available. Courses provide challenging enrichment, honors, and Advanced Placement® options taught in a highly supportive environment. From early childhood through elementary, middle, and high school, CTD summer programs encourage students to explore academic areas of interest and connect with a community of peers.
In-person programs allow students to: Work in a community of like-minded peers Explore subjects not typically offered in traditional schools
Participate in challenging, research-driven courses backed by one of the world’s most respected universities Delve into a single topic and develop an area of strength
ONLINE
CTD provides a variety of online and hybrid (a combination of online and face-to-face) courses. Online courses offer academically talented students from around the world the opportunity to take exceptional enrichment, high school honors, and Advanced Placement (AP)®
SERVICE-LEARNING
Service-learning courses are offered through CTD’s Civic Education Project (CEP). CEP combines hands-on education and community service to promote civic responsibility among young people.

Enjoy extensive one-to-one feedback from instructors Fit coursework into their busy schedules
Develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving and executive functioning skills
CEP’s summer 2019 offerings include 1-week CivicWeek programs in Chicago (for Grades 7-8 and 9-12) and the 3-week Civic Leadership Institute on Northwestern’s Evanston campus (for Grades 9-12).
