Table of Contents Is using ABYC EDU-1 On-Water Recreational Boating Skills–Power mandatory?
EDU-1 was created voluntarily and by consensus of recreational boating experts from across the country. It represents the foundation of best practices in on-water skills-based instruction in entry-level recreational powerboat operation.
Although there is no mandate for its use, all organizations and individuals providing recreational powerboating education are highly encouraged to design and deliver on-water courses that follow EDU-1. Doing so enables organizations and individuals to reap the benefits of higher quality instruction, students with greater readiness to engage in safer boating, and increased credibility of their programs in the marketplace. Following EDU-1 also enables individuals and organizations to be part of creating the future of recreational boating education.
Is there a fee to use ABYC EDU-1 On-Water Recreational Boating Skills–Power? How can I access it?
ABYC EDU-1 On-Water Recreational Boating Skills–Power is freely available for use by anyone interested in the design and delivery of on-water skills-based recreational powerboat instruction.
