CRUISE
DOHA On the Persian Gulf coast in the east of Qatar, Doha is the country’s capital and most populated area. Its skyline is constantly changing, with traditional souks sitting next to modern shopping malls and towering skyscrapers. Souq Waqif is one of the most atmospheric stops to make in the city — it was once the trading hub for local Bedouins and merchants. Today, traditional garments, spices, souvenirs and trinkets are sold throughout the marketplace, with cafes and restaurants scattered around, too. The Falcon Souq neighbors Souq Waqif, while on the next road along there’s Gold Souq, with one of the largest clusters of gold jewelery stalls in Doha.

Closer to the coast along the waterfront,
stroll through MIA Park, one of the greenest spaces that you’ll find here — rent a picnic basket to fill with goods from nearby cafes and perch under a tree in the park to catch the sea breeze. For a culture hit, stop by the Museum of
Islamic Art, which holds one of the largest collections of Islamic art in the world. For more art and culture, head to the National Museum of Qatar — the one mile of galleries are split into three sections: Beginnings, Life in Qatar and Building the Nation. With the desert close by, there’s also
space for adventure during a trip to Doha, including sandboarding, desert sunsets, quad biking, safaris and dune bashing.
