WHY
CIS programmes offer graduates an array of career possibilities in government, media, NGOs, development agencies, museums and religious institutions, with alumni having diverse career trajectories in both the public and private sectors. The college offers a number of degrees, ranging from art to finance and global affairs, plus the
world’s first MA in Applied Islamic Ethics. One of the most popular degrees is the MA in Contemporary Islamic Studies, which offers an understanding of present-day challenges that have grown more complex as a result of pluralism and globalisation. The course includes three foundation courses, a choice of two specialisations, three elective courses and a thesis. The university has a reputation for research, with faculty engaged in numerous global scholarship initiatives. A number of projects have been awarded research grants, with opportunities for students to join research clusters.
HOW
An online application with a personal statement, letters of recommendation, resume/CV, identification, funding capability and academic transcripts are all required. Applicants should have a strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA out of 4.0) and a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Applicants can be exempt from the language proficiency requirement if they’ve completed their studies at a university in a country where English is the native language.
