PARTNER CONTENT FOR STATE TOURIST BOARD SOUTHWEST GERMANY
Best of SouthWest Germany GERMANY
The Best of SouthWest Germany is an association of nine five-star superior hotels that represent the most luxury hotels in the region — a sunny state in the very heart of Europe bordered by France and Switzerland. It encompasses the Black Forest, Lake Constance, lively cities and the peaceful Swabian Mountains, as well as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and world-famous castles like Hohenzollern Castle, glorious gardens, medieval monasteries and unspoiled nature and wine trails between the Rhine, the Neckar and the Danube rivers. This destination deserves a place on every tourist’s bucket list. Most of the hotels have a long history. All are
privately owned, most still family-run. Some are located in the glorious countryside, others are in the heart of beautiful cities. Yet each hotel is different in style, each reflects the family that owns and runs it, continuing a tradition that’s handed down from one generation to the next. The hotels are all individual, with their own
tales to tell. Some, like the Traube Tonbach, the Bareiss and the Dollenberg began as simple
inns in the beautiful Black Forest. Today, these are among the most comfortable destinations in Europe, with relaxing spa areas and chefs preparing world-class meals. Then there are the city hotels, with equally long
and proud traditions: the world-famous Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa in Baden-Baden; the Colombi in Freiburg; close to the Kaiserstuhl vineyards, the Erbprinz in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe; and the Europäischer Hof in Heidelberg, one of Europe’s most romantic cities, with its castle, river and university. Amid the bustle of modern urban life, each hotel provides an oasis of tranquillity. There’s also the Riva, with its glorious
views over Lake Constance, and the Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, with the charm of a fine country house It was once an aristocratic lodge, and features a 27-hole golf course. All share the same aim: to provide guests with a
special experience. That means providing service of the highest quality. It also includes fine dining; in every hotel, the cuisine is exceptional, offering up excellent regional and international cuisine.
Don’t miss The ultimate experience for food lovers: from fresh fish on the banks of Lake Constance to a slice of black forest gateau
