T
he past year has changed much of what we’d previously taken for granted, including the ways in which we understand simple concepts like ‘travel’ and ‘luxury’. Everything feels a bit more
complicated than before, and while we’ve all had to adjust our expectations, what hasn’t changed is that travel itself remains the ultimate freedom — the ultimate luxury. Being able to expand our horizons and experience new places feels more important than ever. In this issue, we take a look how the world of luxury travel is
adapting to world events and the trends we’ll be seeing more of in the years to come (p.8). These include the increasing importance of isolation and privacy (p.12), the renewed focus on health and wellness travel (p.18), how travellers are choosing to extend their trips well beyond a weekend away (p.22) and how to have exciting experiences closer to home (p.28). Elsewhere, we examine the ways in which the industry has
