Seychelles Islands SEYCHELLES

As a holiday destination, the Seychelles entrances the senses with myriad colours and experiences. Seychellois cuisines intertwines influences

from Europe, Africa and Asia, blending them into an array of unique dishes. Local culture contains the liveliest aspects of song and dance from Europe and Africa to produce a unique musical identity all its own. The people here are friendly, quick to smile

and always game to have an impromptu party. Visitors are able to witness a moutya night — a cultural dance that harkens back to the days when chained slaves used their dance and lyrics to voice their grievances to their masters. Seychelles is also home to many pristine and

practically untouched natural sites, nurturing a kaleidoscopic array of unique flora and fauna, safe within the boundaries of its untouched world. The archipelago is home to some of the world’s most spectacular seabird colonies, and the names of islands such as Praslin, La Digue, Bird, Aride, Frégate, Cousin and Aldabra have become bywords for birdwatching opportunities.

Safe inside the boundaries of their secure,

island worlds, the spectacular assortment of endemic and indigenous species is awe-inspiring Nowhere else on Earth will you find the jellyfish tree, the Seychelles paradise flycatcher, the world’s smallest frog, the heaviest land tortoise and the Aldabra, the Indian Ocean’s only flightless bird. What’s more, the islands are home to some of the most spectacular seabird colonies in the world, including 13 species and 17 subspecies that occur only here. Beneath the waves, it’s much the same story;

the exciting contrasts between the granite and coral reefs, with their dizzying displays of reef fish, turtles, rays, sharks and pelagics beckon to novice and experienced divers alike in places where as many as 800 different species have been spotted on a single dive. The islands of the Seychelles are unique time

capsules and a great many have slumbered in splendid isolation since the dawn of time. These island worlds have barely changed over the years, offering visitors a unique experience.

Don’t miss Explore the Seychelles’ flora and fauna and its amazing diversity along a network of guided walks and trails
