Xanadu Luxury Villas & Retreat ZANZIBAR, TANZANIA

Xanadu offers a collection of nine unique villas designed by Zambian entrepreneur Eileen Smith. Each is weaving around a central pool and bar area, nestled within a vibrant oasis of tropical plants and trees. These villas provide a sophisticated and peaceful ambience for travellers seeking privacy, quality service and gourmet cuisine. The architecture of the villas is inspired

by nature and seamlessly blending with the environment. A touch of dhow wood is thoughtfully incorporated into the design and furniture emphasizing Xanadu’s commitment to art, luxury and sustainability. Each villa lies a private plunge pool, a bathroom carved in tanga stone, impressive waterfall showers and luxury room amenities. Guests can unwind by spending time at the beach, with a dedicated butler nurturing their needs. The cuisine at Xanadu follows the farm-to-

table principle, using organic, fresh and seasonal ingredients grown in the resort’s own garden and farm. Xanadu provides guests with an unparalleled culinary experience, and an opportunity to experience cooking classes with the chefs, too.

With the chefs’ vast knowledge of nutrition and appreciation of different cultures, Xanadu can tailor-make meals that are halal friendly, kosher friendly, Jain, vegan and vegetarian. The spa is a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Located directly on the beach, it allows clients to enjoy treatments both indoors and outdoors. The spa offers traditional African massages, with the Pamoja Experience being the prime treatment for honeymooners. These massages incorporate natural oils and herbs, providing a unique and deeply therapeutic experience. Additionally, guests can participate in various

activities, including a Stone Town Tour to learn the history and culture of Zanzibar, as well as a sunset cruise in a famous dhow boat. For those who have a deeper connection with water, they can explore the ocean by snorkelling, diving or kite surfing. There are also ethical dolphin tours available, which are led by seasoned captains. On these excursions, tourists can see and snorkel with different species of dolphins in an ethical manner while learning all about the habits of these fascinating creatures.

DON’T MISS Enjoy ethical aquatic activities, such as the chance to swim among various different species of dolphins
