This family-friendly hotel is all about beach holiday fun, combined with a commitment to supporting the local community, economy and environment. The Ravenala Attitude’s suites are decorated
with local art and furniture that’s been made in Mauritius. The salads, vegetables and fruit are farmed by the local Mayaven family and Spa POZ uses products made with ingredients that have been grown on the island using sustainable methods. This four-star hotel is located in the northwest
of the island, between the Citron River and the soft sands of Turtle Bay. Guests can cycle to nearby villages, kayak along the river and explore the markets, shops and historical sights in the capital of Port Louis, which is a 30-minute car ride away. Make the most of the hotel’s beachfront location
overlooking Turtle Bay, a natural marine park that’s well-regarded for its snorkelling and scuba diving. Explore the bay by boat and standup paddleboard, or lounge around one of the swimming pools, ordering a cocktail or sipping from the reusable water bottle loaned to guests on arrival (the hotel has banned single-use plastic).
The Ravenala Attitude also offers activities such
as beach volleyball, tennis and basketball, plus a wellness trail along the banks of the Citron River with dedicated workout and meditation areas. The Attitude team encourages guests to explore the island, meet the locals and learn about the island’s culture. Guests can download the hotel’s mobile app and follow one of the self-guided itineraries, from a street food walking tour of Port Louis to discovering authentic fishing villages. Customers can also try a cooking class with one of the hotel chefs or opt to have an Otentik Dinner with a local family in their home. The Ravenala Attitude has nine restaurants,
from Mauritian dishes at Kot Nou to Asian plates at Madame Ming. Guests can also pop along to the Taba-J street food truck to pick up a soft and flavour-packed dholl puri. The hotel has a dine- around programme, which gives half-board and full-board guests the opportunity to eat at other Attitude restaurants at no extra cost. There are six bars at The Ravenala Attitude, a nightclub and a self-service tea bar, too.
