Spicers Peak Lodge QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
Far up in Queensland’s High Country, where rolling ridgelines meet vast skies, Spicers Peak Lodge offers one of Australia’s most remarkable wilderness escapes. Perched more than 1,100 metres above sea level on an 8,000-acre private property, it’s Australia’s highest non-alpine mountain retreat. Its position within the World Heritage-listed Main Range National Park places it deep in the Scenic Rim, surrounded by the dramatic contours of the Great Dividing Range yet only two hours south west of Brisbane. The lodge’s design draws directly from the
mountain landscape. The interior features local bluestone and rich timbers and offers expansive views of the rainforest, plateaus and distant ridges far off on the horizon. High-pitched ceilings and monumental beams create a sense of space, while the atmosphere remains peaceful and touched by the stillness of the wilderness. Dining is a centrepiece. The multi-award-
winning Peak Restaurant showcases seasonal Australian produce, with lunches and a five-course degustation menu paired with Australian and
international wines. Evenings begin with cocktails and canapes in the communal lounge as sunsets glow across the mountains. Accommodation is intentionally intimate,
with 10 suites in the main lodge and two private lodges along the escarpment. Lodge Suites feature bluestone fireplaces, while Private Lodges have outdoor infinity pools overlooking the range. Throughout, wood-burning fireplaces, marble bathrooms, complimentary mini-bars and Appelles toiletries add to the level of refined comfort. The experience is fully inclusive, from meals and
wines to guided walks and activities. Days unfold through mountain biking, stargazing, scenic 4WD tours and nature walks with experienced guides. The infinity pool and Spa Anise day spa offer
deeper relaxation, while a library, pool table, tennis court and sunset picnics provide quieter moments. For a truly unforgettable arrival, helicopter
transfers from Brisbane or the Gold Coast trace the contours of the Scenic Rim before landing at this rarefied sanctuary, where luxury and wilderness meet in balance.
DON’T MISS Set out on a sunset 4WD tour to watch the Scenic Rim glow gold from the mountaintop
