Inside ICI 2022 Calendar of Events by Joseph E. Fritz, Executive Director Investment Casting Institute

business and personal lives. In order to respond to the challenges that we were confronted with, the ICI had to cancel some events, go virtual with others and move planned events for the next several years in order to provide our members with the content to which we have grown accustomed. As a result, the calendar of events for 2022 does not follow the normal pattern. The ICI usually conducts the

O

Technical Conference and Expo in the month of October. This year, that event will be expanded as we are hosting the World Conference on Investment Casting, and due to venue availability, the event will be taking place August 21-24 in Anaheim, California. That is not to say that we won’t be

conducting a meeting in October. We will, but it will be our Business and

Leadership Development Conference and Annual General Meeting of Members. This event, which is typically held two weeks after Easter Sunday, will be conducted from October 2-5 in Scottsdale, Arizona. This year marks the return to our

normal education program with the ICI Process Control for Investment Casting Seminar, which will be conducted virtually, in half day sessions from May 23-27. This event will be followed by the 20th ICI Industry Certification Course, which will be held at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, June 1-9. Though we have yet to schedule

any Regional Meetings for 2022, we are hopeful that we may see a return of these free, industry wide events. Last year, with the assistance of our partner trade associations, we conducted a topic-specific regional meeting at the University of Northern Iowa, the

Additive Manufacturing for Investment Casting Symposium. This event was very well received with attendees requesting a 2022 repeat performance. In April 2020, the ICI hosted its first

webinar, and has conducted these events nearly every month (and sometimes two per month) since that time. We plan to continue this tradition going forward, and are in the process of lining up speakers for this year. The ICI hopes that 2022 proves to

be a year of recovery and rebuilding, and your participation in ICI events is a key measure of that. Since this year’s calendar of events breaks away from traditional timing, the ICI has included a magnetic event calendar with this issue of INCAST Magazine. We hope that it finds a home on your file cabinet or refrigerator where it will keep you apprised of our events as well as of those conducted by our sister trade association, the EICF.
