EICF Registered Address Change to Brussels recognized

In 2018, the EICF Board of Directors the

uncertainty that the

Brexit issue might bring forward for a European Association. They approved the initiative to change the seat of the association from UK to Belgium under the specific law existing in Belgium for International Non Profit Associations (INPA or AISBL). This complex task has been accomplished thanks to the

cooperation of the different parties involved and specially thanks to the generosity of the 5 Founding Members of the EICF AISBL which allowed a soft landing for the whole change process. During the 16 of October, final meetings (including an Extraordinary General Assembly) from EICF UK organization collected the definitive approval and ratification for the

Industry Trends & EICF IC Market Survey

Investment Casting Industry in Europe has been experiencing a constant growth rate during the last 10 years with different profile within the

different market segments but

with an overall positive trend in most of them. However 2019 has been impacted with a significant decrease within the automotive market segment affecting supply both for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. This has had a knock-on effect on many European foundries working into the automotive market segment which are now reviewing their strategies aiming to increase their diversification. The High added value segment continues to be positive based on the driving force of aerospace demand, whilst the IGT market continue to be stagnated aiming to see some signs of slow recovery.

INCAST Magazine

Cooperation with the Investment Casting Institute has continued during the year 2019 and specially in contributing to the INCAST magazine, “the global magazine for Investment Casting”. EICF members are becoming familiar in receiving the monthly issue and having access to an international broad view of

June 2018 with the

occasion of the 65th anniversary of the formation of the ICI in June 1953 the INCAST magazine is disseminated to stakeholders at both sides of the Atlantic.

The Commercial segment has been experimenting along the year a light slow down which might turn out in a minor decrease at year end. The overall European situation

shows: • EU GDP growth is expected to slow to 1.4% in 2019, before rising slightly to 1.6% in 2020. Despite the expected slowdown in EU economic growth, the labour market outlook remains positive. The unemployment rate is projected to remain relatively low and job creation will continue although at slower rate as the economy will cool down. According to the Commission’s latest estimates, the EU unemployment rate is set to continue its downward trend from 6.9% last year to 6.3% in 2020.
