The social activities, provided an excellent opportunity for delegates to network, socialize and interchanging experience. Seminar dinner was held at Ravintola Sipuli below Uspenski Cathedral, where an award was presented to Mr. Mark Bijovet (Ramson & Randolph European
Technical
Manager) who was retiring after so many years advising and supporting the advance of the Investment Casting European Foundry Industry.
Industry Visit to SAKO and Sacotec Components
Complementing the above a
technical industry visit were held in Riihimäki to the facilities of Sacotec Components Oy and
SAKO Ltd.
The visit was welcomed by the top management of both companies providing a detail information on the history and development of the companies. Visit to the facilities was very well conducted divided by groups of 8 to 10 persons allowing the interaction of questions about the industrial processes and equipment visited.
Anti Zitting, Chairman of
Sacotec Components Oy, received the delegates and provided a full insight into the history of Investment Casting in Finland and the development of Sacotec. Visitors also had the possibility of visiting the plant of SAKO (a world leader in high precision rifle manufacturing) which was introduced by his General Manager Mr Raimo Karjalainen. Impression from visitors were excellent on the installations and visit organization. Virgilio Oliveira EICF Chairman presented to both SAKO and Sacotec some mementos recognizing their contribution to this remarkable seminar.
