THE NILE
Greater political stability and pent-up demand mean the Nile is making a comeback. Next year, the remake of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile should provide a further boost, while the $1 billion Grand Egyptian Museum will open in Giza – a good reason to sell add-ons to Cairo. Cruise lines are also investing. Uniworld’s Sphinx sets sail in January, with Viking’s Viking Osiris launching in 2021. Sanctuary Retreats has refitted the Sanctuary Nile Adventurer, while CroisiEurope launches Nile itineraries in 2020.
Book it: From £5,865 for Uniworld’s Splendors of Egypt and the Nile itinerary, departing January 4, 2020, and including flights, four nights in Cairo and a seven-night
all-inclusive cruise from Luxor.
