THE IRRAWADDY

Myanmar’s shimmering gold temples, friendly people and lush countryside are perfect for clients who have done the Mekong and want to explore Asia further. Scenic, Belmond and Abercrombie & Kent sail the Irrawaddy, while Pandaw will introduce the 28-passenger Kanee Pandaw in November. APT, meanwhile, has launched itineraries sailing from Magwe to Mandalay on the Samatha and Princess Panhwar, starting next September.

Book it: From £2,995 for APT’s new Majestic Myanmar itinerary, departing September 13, 2020, including flights, accommodation (two nights in Yangon and seven on the four-

star Princess Panhwar), drinks with meals and excursions. aptouring.co.uk

THE DANUBE

As Europe’s most popular river for Brits, lines tend to innovate on the Danube. Avalon has added cruise-only fares and taster trips between Vienna and Budapest, while Riviera Travel has introduced a seven-night trip from Vienna to Regensburg, travelling at a slower pace. The Danube east of Budapest is a route to watch, with A-Rosa Cruises and The River Cruise Line adding itineraries for 2020.

Book it: From £1,599 for Riviera Travel’s seven-night Vienna, Bohemia and Treasures of the Danube

itinerary, departing July 4, 2020, including flights. rivieratravel.co.uk
