year, as well as in-store training sessions and have a new dedicated training website at
Jamaica.mytrainingrewards.com. We also offer incentives for agents who have booked their clients to Jamaica and facilitate requests for planned consumer day activities. Agents can log their Jamaica bookings on
Jamaicarewards.co.uk to earn cash rewards and other surprises as well as a chance to experience our ‘White Affair’ event. Each year, we fly the top bookers and their guests in style to a luxury resort for a few days and give them an amazing time. This year it will be held at one of our new hotels, Excellence Oyster Bay. We also have e-zines with information to help agents sell Jamaica.
Q. What song would you like to hear at this year’s after-party? Shenika: Michael Jackson’s You Rock My World. I was born smack in between the 80s and 90s and, as a Jamaican, I love to dance. One of the smoothest dancers of that era was Michael Jackson. I grew up on his music and as we Jamaicans love to
entertain, we will ‘rock your world’ this year as one of the event’s headline sponsors.
Q. What will you be wearing for the 80s vs 90s theme? Shenika: In the 80s and 90s, Jamaica was a location for many blockbuster movies; our ‘Reggae Boyz’ football team took on the world in France in 1998; and it was an exciting era for Jamaican music. Look out for me in my Jamaican-themed 80s or 90s outfit. I will be hard to miss!
Q. What advice would you give a travel agent attending the Northern Ball for the first time? Shenika: The Northern Ball is the biggest travel agent event of the year. If you are coming for the first time, expect to have a great time! It is a themed-event, so be sure to be in fancy-dress costume. The food is great, the entertainment is spot on and it is the perfect place to network and meet other agents and suppliers. And who knows, if you get involved in the night’s activities, you might just take away a hot prize.
