It came as the webinar series, POWTECH Virtual Talks, got off to a successful start in the summer, featuring topics such as digital transformation or measuring and control technology. It was also a time that saw the launch of this magazine as an avenue for fostering dialogue and networking within the sector. The event took place from July 29 to 31. Organisers, NürnbergMesse China, put extensive safety and hygiene measures in place to mitigate risk, and despite worldwide travel restrictions, it was still able to reach visitor numbers at roughly the 2018 level. And it proved worthwhile. The post-event visitor survey showed
that, despite the variety of digital options available, exhibiting companies still attach great importance to face-to-face, personal exchanges. No less than 96 per cent of
the show in Shanghai. It follows a successful 2020 event - the 18th edition - also in Shanghai at which a total of 109 exhibitors, down on the 177 in 2019, once again showcased the rich diversity of mechanical processing and associated technologies. More than 8,867 trade visitors, again a
reduction from 11,366 in 2019, but roughly the same as the 2018 figure, made their way to Shanghai to underscore the position of IPB as the leading trade fair for the powder and bulk solids processing industries in China. It
exhibitors were satisfied with the event, while 65 per cent - more than half of the companies involved - have already announced that they will be rebooking for IPB China 2021.
ALL SECTORS COVERED The top sectors represented by IPB visitors included the chemical industry with 37 per cent, followed by the food sector (23 per cent), pharmaceuticals (14 per cent), new energy (13 per cent), glass and ceramics (7 per cent) and pit and quarry/non-metallic minerals (6 per cent).
