Phonics Soft c, Hard c
WALT: Examine and use soft ‘c’ and hard ‘c’.
The letter ‘c’ has two sounds: a soft sound and a hard sound. If the letter after the ‘c’ is ‘i’, ‘e’ or ‘y’, it makes a /s/ sound. This is a soft sound. If it is any other letter after the ‘c’, it makes the /k/ sound. This is a hard sound.
