In pairs. Read Saif’s profile below. Discuss the question and give reasons for your answer: Do you think that Saif will be successful in a career in business?
Saif I have a lot of plans regarding my future. Currently, I am studying Business Studies at the Arab Open University. I will start my final semester in three months. There is a wide range of topics on the course. I think I have good people skills and I have always been interested in people and what motivates them. Therefore, I am interested in working in marketing or management. If I am successful in my exams, I will apply to work for an international company. I have always been interested in Asian cultures, although I have never been to Asia. I would like to work in an Asian country, such as South Korea or China. I have learnt some Korean online. I try to practise for 15 minutes every day. Although Korean is difficult, I have made some progress. I think that we all live in a ‘global village’. Therefore, I believe that we should try to learn as much as we can about different cultures and languages. This is something that has a positive effect on our everyday lives and on business.
2 FOCUS Writing in + time phrase for the future

FOCUS Present perfect
When we use the present perfect (have/has + past participle), we often follow it by a sentence that is in a different tense. This tense is usually a present tense.
Examples I have always been interested in people and what motivates them. Therefore, I am interested in working in marketing or management.
I have learnt some Korean online. I try to practise for 15 minutes every day.
