GETTING ABOUT Taxis


The main taxi rank is on Dartmouth’s South Em- bankment outside Platform 1 Bar & Restaurant (see map of Dartmouth on pages 12-13). For details of local taxi companies check the By The Dart website or scan the QR code below.


If travelling to local towns/villages by taxi the approximate cost of daytime journeys is as follows (but do check with your taxi driver in advance): Blackpool Sands £12, Dittisham £18, Torcross £22, Totnes £30, Kingsbridge £30, Salcombe £45-50, Exeter Airport £70.


Buses


The main bus stop in Dartmouth is on the South Embankment outside Platform 1 Bar & Restaurant (see map of Dartmouth on pages 12-13). From here Stagecoach buses run to Plymouth (3) via Kingsbridge, Totnes (92), Townstal (90 - top of Dartmouth) and Dartmouth Park & Ride. Buses


run hourly from Kingswear (from the Banjo) to Brixham (18) and Paignton (120). Please note services are limited in evenings and at weekends. For bus times check stagecoachbus.com.


Parking in Dartmouth Parking in Dartmouth is limited – particularly in


the summer months when visitors are recom- mended to use the Park & Ride service. Check the South Hams Council website.


The main central town car park is in Mayors Avenue (Postcode: TQ6 9NF, RingGo 3471) and there is limited on street parking around the town (limited to 1 or 2 hours from 1 May to 30 September).


Visitors are recommended to use the Park & Ride service during the High Season when buses (op- erational Easter to end October) depart from the main Dartmouth bus stop on the South Embank- ment. The car park is located by the Lidl super- market and Dartmouth Leisure Centre (Postcode: TQ6 9LW, RingGo 3480) at the top of town.
