Metals processing & machining to form key elements in UK’s largest annual engineering event

Advanced Engineering, the UK’s largest annual engineering trade show, will return to Birmingham’s NEC on 2 & 3 November 2016. The show, which is set to have more exhibitors on board than ever before, will also host the largest open conference of its kind.

Katie Crocombe, Advanced Engineering Event Director, comments: “We are once again thrilled to be bringing a fantastic show to the NEC. This is such a fast paced sector and Advanced Engineering really has become the hub for the industry where we bring together top engineering professionals and decision makers to witness all of the latest innovations and industry trends. As well as hosting top exhibitors, we have some fantastic speakers lined up for this year’s conference, presenting attendees with numerous educational opportunities. There is so much to see and do at this year’s show, visitors really will be spoilt for choice!”

Largest Open Conference of its kind This will provide those in attendance with access to the latest information, from industry trends and supply chain opportunities to technical talks, case studies and innovations.

Visitors are offered access to six conference forums, which span key industry sectors, such as aerospace, automotive, motorsport, marine and civil engineering. The conference forums include Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Composites Engineering, Composites & Advanced Materials Engineering, Performance Metals Engineering and Enabling Innovation.

Throughout the two-day conference there will be a number of insightful and educational sessions from leading industry experts. Sessions confirmed so far come from the likes of: Jaguar Land Rover, Innovate UK, Magna International, SMMT, BOC, KTN, National Instruments, Women’s Engineering Society and many more.

The conference will also include on-floor feature displays of some of the world’s leading engineering projects, giving visitors unique access to the latest innovations. The 2016 show features will include a showcase of the winner’s projects from the Sapa-sponsored Young Designers Competition. The competition encouraged UK university students to work with aluminium to exploit its design capabilities and all the possibilities that the material allows.

Exhibitors With over 80 per cent of the show floor already booked, Advanced Engineering 2016 is on target to have its largest ever exhibitor base. Visitors will have access to over 700 organisations, many of whom will be using the show to launch new products and services to the wider engineering market.

This includes major players such as: XYZ Machine Tools, Guhring, Eastman Machine Company, Batten & Allen, Biesse Group, Metalysis, Ningbo United Machines, Nitto Kohki Europe, MSA Manufacturing and Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum.

More industry support than ever In addition to vast amounts of educational content and leading industry suppliers, Advanced Engineering 2016

has gained increased support from a number of respected industry bodies, associations and organisations. This includes UKLA, IMechE, Composites UK, The Engineering Integrity Society, GTMA and North West Aerospace Alliance.

IMechE has been announced as an official show supporter and will be running two one-day technical conferences co-located with Advanced Engineering 2016, focusing on the aerospace and automotive sectors.

The Manufacturer will run its Smart Factory Expo, in partnership with Advanced Engineering, as part of a series of events to examine Britain’s response to Industry 4.0. The Manufacturer Live events include the two-day exhibition, The Manufacturer Top 100, The Manufacturer Annual Leaders Conference and The Manufacturer MX Awards.

Advanced Engineering will also run alongside Lab Innovations 2016, the UK’s only event dedicated to laboratory professionals. Visitors will have the opportunity to access both shows with one badge.
