Over the years, the team has been collaborating with innovative partners to help develop sustainable products and technologies for auto-racing and motorsports. So while you could think of the their car as a fierce competitor in the alternative fuel class, it’s perhaps better to think of it as the world’s fastest R&D lab for sustainable engine and gear oil technologies.
And to help advance the development of sustainable technologies, the team has rebuilt a new race car every two years or so. Last year, PURAGLOBE became the title sponsor of the team. And the “PURAGLOBE CareForClimate®
For example, the team continued running on alternative fuel, using E20 (20% bio-ethanol) produced by CropEnergies AG. The team also proved the performance of PURAGLOBE’s 5W50 Endurance Racing Oil and high-tech lubricants – all made from an innovative process that re-engineers, used oil. Likewise, the PURAGLOBE CareForClimate®
Team is working with other
partners toward developing other bio-based components and other earth-friendly technologies.

as they are now known – tested the limits of performance and sustainability with their third-generation car, a Scirocco 2.0L TDI. During the racing season, the team not only put the performance of the extremely efficient TDI engine to the test, but they did so using bio-diesel fuel.
Also, the team didn’t just test the engine and fuel, they also tested the body and components of the rest of the car: the lightweight body was made with natural fibers; and many of the components under the hood and in the interior were made from bio-based plastics.
During the 2016 racing season, the team promoted the awareness and performance of sustainability in motorsports even further with their latest generation car: a PORSCHE Cayman GT4 (think of it as part race car; part R&D test lab for innovating fuel, lubes, oils, greases, and other sustainable products). It marked the first time a racing oil – based on PURAGLOBE’S base oil technology – successfully finished the racing season. And as if the grueling ADAC 24-hour Nürburgring endurance race wasn’t challenging enough, the PURAGLOBE CareForClimate® Team tested the limits of their driving abilities, along with the performance of several sustainable, alternative products as well.
running a race matters most, the PURAGLOBE CareForClimate® Team is hard to beat, because when you’re racing with environment-friendly components and sustainable fuels, oils, and lubes – we all win.
Together, the team and their partners are driving hard toward their ultimate goal: Advancing sustainability and developing a winning, CO2
-neutral race car. And if you think about how For more information, please contact:
