The 2017 Media Pack for Lube Magazine has been updated with new demographic information and is available online via the Request Form www.lube-media.com/mediapack.

UKLA has a new President, Steve Mayo, you can read all about him on page 44.

This edition of Lube is unusual because it has two Personal Profiles. The reason is that UEIL’s current President, Fabio Dalla Giovanna of Viscolube is standing down, while Valentina Serra-Holm from Nynas is taking the reins. It therefore seemed appropriate to say to Fabio “Auf Wiedersehen” (“Until we meet again” in German) and say “Hallo” to Valentina. On behalf of Lube Magazine’s readers we would like to offer congratulations to Valentina on the new role of UEIL President. See their Personal Profiles on pages 24 and 26.

Please do read the Blake Eskew Main Feature article starting on page 6. I was unable to put it down as it is compelling reading. I’m looking forward to seeing him at the UEIL Annual Congress where he is giving the Keynote address.

Cover: The Brandenburg Gate. The 2016 UEIL Annual Congress will take place in Berlin, Germany between 26 and 28 October 2016.

Full details for the conference programme for these three days can be found in this magazine. Turn to page 55 for the Programme. There will also be a tourism day on 29 October for all those wishing to take in the sights of this historic city.

4 LUBE MAGAZINE NO.135 OCTOBER 2016

Later this month I will frequently be saying “Hallo” and “Auf Wiedersehen” as I will be attending the UEIL 2016 Annual Congress in Berlin. Have you registered yet? Already the number of delegates is high, so be careful not to miss out and don’t forget to book your accommodation soon as there aren’t many rooms left. See you soon “bis bald”.

Bis Bald

So much has been happening here in the Lube Office, I don’t know where to begin. We have two new media partners: FPS (see page 50) and Advanced Engineering (see page 52). Throughout the year we have been

working on four developments. The first project in February 2016 was to make all the Lube-Techs available online www.lube-media.com/lubetech. Then in July 2016, the second project was to get the EuropaLub website launched www.europalub.org. Following on in September the third project was to make the Local Reports available online and these can now be found here www.lube-media.com/localreports. Turn to page 60 to find out more.

Very soon, our fourth new project will be launched. We’ve been keeping it tightly under wraps and we’re bursting to tell you, but for now our lips are sealed. Watch this space! Take a look at our advertisement on page 51 and see if you can guess what it is. Without the support from our sponsors: Chevron Global Lubricants, Croda Lubricants and Olyslager, this project would not have been possible. Thank you very much Chevron Global, Croda and Olyslager for sponsoring this initiative. If anyone else would like to sponsor our new project, please do contact me.
