ACI’s European Base Oils & Lubricants Summit returned to Poland for the first time since 2011 and continues to set the agenda for the industry, bringing together 20 inspirational speakers, 6 exhibiting companies and 60 delegates from over 16 countries around the


globe. They came together for insight, education, innovation and most importantly to do business. The mix of high ranking speakers and innovative presentations, created an event that bristled with energy.


Focusing on European markets for base oils and lubricants including insights into global activities having an impact on the European industry. The two-day conference with a fully packed programme, offered excellent opportunities for networking with other attendees from base oil producers, lubricant


blenders, additive suppliers, OEMs, trade and distribution companies, market analysts and consultancies.


Warsaw in late summer was sunny and warm, the perfect venue for the 8th ACI European Base Oils & Lubricants Summit. It was chaired


by Thomas Norrby, Senior Technical Lubricants Advisor from Nynas AB, after David Whitby of Pathmaster Marketing stood down in this role. Thomas opened the meeting with a concise overview covering: an outlook on China; the effects of BREXIT; Brent prices, base oil outlook, emerging markets, global market growth, with perspectives and a general forecast.


Leszek Stoklosa, CEO of Orlen Oil, gave the Keynote Address on ‘European Macroeconomics and the Impact on Lubricant Consumption.’
