Quaker acquires Verkol S.A.
Quaker Chemical Corporation (NYSE: KWR) has announced that it has acquired Verkol, S.A., a leading specialty grease and lubricants manufacturer and marketer based in Northern Spain. Verkol sells products into industrial end markets, with a particular strength serving the Steel industry. In 2014, Verkol recorded revenues of approximately USD 33 million. This transaction was consistent with Quaker’s strategy to expand its entry into the specialty grease market and to increase shareholder value.
Quaker’s product lines include coolants, rolling oils, cleaners, corrosion preventives, fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, and specialty greases. The addition of Verkol’s specialty grease technology and unique continuous casting products, as well as experienced employees, will help Quaker to offer even more to its customers.
