Hutchinson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we have to announce, that a much loved and well respected founding Director of Optimum Oils Ltd. Peter Hutchinson passed away on Thursday 5th March aged 68 years.
Peter worked in the Oil Industry for over 45 years before retiring from full time work with Optimum Oils 4 years ago.
Peter began his career in the industry at the age of 18 with the London Oil Refining Company (LORCO), this company was then acquired by Gulf Oil (GB) Ltd in the early 1980s and Peter transferred with the business. During his time with Gulf, Peter was appointed as Senior Sales Engineer and held various roles which included co-ordinating Quarry and Mining, Wholesale Base Oils and the Bus and Coach Sector, during this time Peter achieved a great deal of success with major clients and was greatly respected for his innovation and knowledge.
In December 1997 Gulf Oil (GB) Ltd was sold by Chevron to Shell in the UK and Peter along with three other colleagues decided to form Optimum Oils Ltd, Peter was a driving force in establishing Optimum Oils as a leading supplier to the Bus and Coach Industry, he will be sadly missed by all at Optimum. Peter leaves his wife Sue, daughter Laura and son Ben.
