International Mineral Oil Technology Congress
UNITI held its second International Mineral Oil Congress on 5th and 6th April 2011 in the Maritim Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany, as the successor to the traditional ‘Technical Workshop Hohenheim’ conferences. This event proved to be even more successful than last time with more than 260 delegates attending, an increase of around 20%. From a delegate’s perspective the Congress programme proved extremely valuable with high level speakers focussing on fuels, heating fuels and lubricants with simultaneous translation into English or German. The Congress has truly come of age and become an International event and as a result it has attracted more and more international delegates.
The standard of presentations was excellent and each covered their particular subjects in depth. Sufficient allowance was made to ensure that delegates could hold international expert
discussions and most importantly it provided an excellent networking opportunity.
On the first day Dr. Jakob Seiler representing the German automotive association (VDA) spoke at the plenary session on the future power train and fuel strategy of the German OEMs. The second day was opened with an interesting plenary speech by Dr. Lutz Lindemann, member of the board of directors of FUCHS-PETROLUB AG who spoke on ‘The global lubricants market’.
