Strategic Business Unit Lubricant Additives – Corrosion Inhibitors

Established in 1876 as an important link between suppliers of specialty chemicals and industrial minerals and the industry, C.H. Erbslöh KG with its know-how in application technology has developed into a high performance technical distributor in Europe.

We offer a wide range of specifically formulated products for the metal working industry and industrial oil and grease producers, including EP/AW additives, corrosion inhibitors, antiox- idants, tackifiers, additive packages for lubricants and fuels and many others.

While cooperating with many high quality additive producers, we are the European distributor particularly for corrosion inhibitors of Brad-Chem Ltd and Kimes Technologies. In addition we offer our own corrosion inhibition products under our label CHE®

. Our Brad-Chem® corrosion inhibitors are

developed with multi-metal applications in mind and protect metals and metal combinations like iron/steel, aluminium (alloys), copper and brass, cobalt (alloys), magnesium in aqueous and non-aqueous systems. The products are non-toxic and are developed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. This wide range of concentrated liquid copper passivators and multi-metal corrosion inhibitors are

easy to handle and are suitable for various applications such as copper wire drawing, metal working fluids (MWF), heat transfer systems, brake fluids, industrial cleaning systems and many more corrosive environments.

Kimes Technologies offers a wide product range of synthetic sodium, barium and calcium sulfonates. The calcium sulfonates, available under the product name SyncalTM

, are designed as neutral

and overbased types with TBN’s 20 to 400, including NSF approved overbased calcium sulfonates in white oil, designed for use in grease manufacturing or as corrosion inhibitor conforming to the HX- 1 incidental contact designation.

The newest highlights are overbased Calcium Salicylates, named SalcalTM

,

provides detergency and anti-oxidant characteristics in lubricants formulations as well as improving rust protection in a variety of lubricants and coatings. Moreover, the Kimes product range include JalponTM

, gelled overbased

calcium sulfonates available in solvent, oil, and water carriers. They offer superior corrosion protection for various industrial coating applications.

The C.H. Erbslöh corrosion inhibitors, offered under the CHE®

-COAT-CI

brandname, are based on different combinations of anti-corrosive salts like

nitrites, amines carboxylates, phosphates and some are also modified with organic compounds like alkanolamines. In order to meet differing environmental and safety guidelines C.H.Erbslöh also offers additives free of VOC, nitrite or amines.

C.H. Erbslöh is your partner for the formulation of premium lubricants and is working in close collaboration with high- quality additive producers in order to provide you with the best technology and to solve your lubricant problems.

We are in close contact with organi- sations such as UEIL and UNITI where we presented our products at the Mineralöltechnologie-Forum in April 2011 in Stuttgart. We also participated at the meeting of ELGI in April in Paris.
