Awarded at the UKLA Annual Dinner, the Young Employee of the Year recognises the next generation of outstanding talent in our sector and the contribution they make to their company, their team and their own professional development.
Criteria The nominee demonstrates a significant and sustainable contribution to their organisation, their team in which they work, and their own performance in line with the organisation’s stated business objectives.
The nominee demonstrates a level of commitment to the objectives of the organisation above and beyond that which would normally be expected of an individual working at their level.
The nominee demonstrates responsibility for their actions and the actions of those working around them as they contribute to their own area of responsibility. The nominee demonstrates responsibility for their own professional development in line with the organisation’s performance management process.
The winner of the Young Employee of the Year will be awarded a scholarship to attend the UKLA Certificate of Lubricant Competence for 2026 if they have yet to attend the course or any of its modules.*

To enter, submit a nomination to
megan@ukla.org.uk by 12th September of no more than 1,000 words detailing the achievements of the individual which will be judged against the above criteria. Include details of the nominee’s company, the nominee (their name and role) as well as the proposer’s name, role and company.
*The scholarship must be taken within two years of being awarded effective from the 1st January in the year following the award. The scholarship will cover complimentary course fees, materials and tuition, but excludes the cost of travel and subsistence to attend the course.
