health and the introduction of the Euro 6 standard for emissions has set the course for a Europe that is both inclusive and firmly committed to acting in the public interest.
Today just as the market for lubricant products has changed, so too has the need to provide Lube’s readers with regulatory updates, market news, company information and technical articles to what is now a growing readership of 25,000 industry professionals spanning more than 100 countries around the world.
Meeting the needs of a wide and diverse multi-cultural and global audience is at the heart of Lube magazine today, not just producing articles of interest to members of the UK trade association but for its readers around the world as the official journal
of the European lubricants association, UEIL.
I retired in 2003, however, I have always taken a keen interest in the industry particularly via this magazine. It gives me great pleasure to see how LUBE has grown into such a prestigious and well respected magazine which is circulated to many countries in the world. It reports on a very wide range of technical and legislative matters and also keeps the members informed of individual company news and social events too.
I congratulate all involved with the production of LUBE and wish them continued success for many years to come.
Chris Kettel, Past President, British Lubricants Federation
Greetings from past Editors
Doesn’t time fly! It really does not seem possible that 30 years have passed since our President of the Day Chris Kettel suggested that we produce a Magazine to keep Members updated on Industry News and keep them informed of the happenings in our trade
association the British Lubricants Federation. Little did we realise that from these humble beginnings LUBE would grow into the International publication that we all continue to enjoy today.
A volunteer was needed to pull the news and information together, type it up, prepare the layout for the printers to work their magic and obtain some pictures that could be used - a very simple task so I put up my hand. Very quickly industry friends were sending in items, reports were coming in and LUBE was born. There is little comparison today to my ‘cut and paste’ offering with little or no advertising to the most professional magazine that we see today. So I say a big thank you to all that followed me in the Editorial Chair, making LUBE to be the highly respected and well received publication that it is today.
David S Seex, Past President and the first Editor of LUBE
