VLS, the Verification of Lubricant Specifications, is delighted to be exhibiting at Automechanika in Birmingham this June for the second year running.
The Automechanika event takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 5-7th June and is expected to attract thousands of visitors from both across the UK and abroad. David Wright, Director General of UKLA and Secretary of VLS said: “Last year’s Automechanika proved to be an excellent event for us. We were delighted to welcome two new members as a result of the show. This year, with growing concern about lubricant product standards across Europe, it is vital we are there to communicate the proactive work we do to uphold standards in the UK and protect and educate end users.”
VLS has received four new cases over the past few months, taking the total number of cases investigated to 54 since VLS began in 2013. In its 5th anniversary year, with increasingly stringent requirements for
lubricant specifications and the complexity of their applications, VLS’s work is as vital as ever. Europe is now taking VLS’s lead by rolling out their own pan-European lubricant specifications compliance programme, as well as local initiatives in individual countries such as Spain and Germany.
VLS will also be distributing copies of their consumer leaflet aimed at advising motorists on why choosing the right oil is so important for their vehicle. It highlights the work VLS does to maintain high standards in the industry and ensure consumers can have confidence that the oil they are buying is fit for purpose.
