Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation to Expand Capacity of DAILUBE Extreme Pressure Additives in Eco-Friendly Kashima Plant
Sun Chemical and its parent company, the DIC Corporation, are pleased to announce increased production capacity for DAILUBE®
extreme pressure
additives which are utilised in metal working fluids and industrial applications. In April 2018, the company’s eco-friendly plant in Kashima, Japan will increase production by 6,000 tons per annum to better serve DAILUBE customers around the globe. Currently, Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation maintain a leading market share in Asia for sulphurised extreme pressure additives. With the capacity expansion, the company will be able to better promote and deliver its trusted technology into new and existing markets.
Optimised for metalworking fluids used in cutting, forming and rolling, DAILUBE®
extreme pressure
additives are light in colour, low odour and available in a range of chemistries, including olefin, lard, vegetable, ester, and fatty acid. The Kashima plant in Japan is the ideal location for capacity expansion due to its dedication to eco-friendly production processes, award-winning achievements and technological legacy. Opened in 1972, the Kashima plant is now comprised of 600,000 square
metres and 379 employees. Along with extreme pressure sulphur additives, the Kashima plant produces organic pigments, offset printing inks, metal carboxylates and polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) resins. To reduce environmental impact, the Kashima plant utilises steam generation facilities, biomass boilers, and windmills to power a majority of its production processes. In addition to awards for environmental friendliness, the plant has received various certifications and honours related to quality management, hygiene, and safety. The Kashima plant in Japan is a keystone of Sun Chemical and DIC’s commitment to quality, innovation and environmental responsibility.
