industrial turbine machinery
In order to maintain the required performances of the oil during the service life, an innovative additives package has been developed in our San Donato (Milan) Laboratories. When finished product, based on new additives package and the innovative basestocks, became available, we selected machinery from one of our Refineries to start the field test. The results of the field test proved to us that our technology was very robust and guaranteed the most suitable lubrication. In other words, there was more space to move forward in decreasing the viscosity of the lubricant up to ISO VG 15. Finally, we achieved a cutting edge result: our oil, Eni OTE GT 15, can satisfy the lubrication requirements of a turbine that has been designed to work with an ISO VG 32 oil, assuring safe and
Just to give an idea of economic and effective savings, it has to be considered that the average mechanical power loss reduction, compared to industrial turbines lubricated with a standard ISO VG 32 oil, is up to 15%. This result is the outcome of tests performed by BHGE on representative equipment and machines under controlled testing conditions, testing under different operating modes may or may not reproduce the same results. In figures, the usage of Eni OTE GT 15 on a 30 MW natural gas turbine, can allow a saving of 120,000 SMC/year of natural gas with a CO2
reliable operation but with a reduction of fuel costs and CO2
emissions reduction of 240
ton/year. The Eni OTE GT 15 has been formally approved by BHGE against the new specification ITN0000014.
emissions, in line with our mission.
