March 23 marked a year since the nation experienced its first lockdown. It has been a most extraordinary year and the world as we knew it was turned on its head. Chris Frankland and Vicki Evans see how the industry has changed and what we have learnt from this challenging time

t’s the beginning of March. Reports and cases of coronavirus have already hit the UK, but the public and the Govern-


ment are yet to react to this situation. We joke at kbb Birmingham as we elbow- bump and use the hand sanitiser provided on every stand. Kbbreview even reports many suppliers and retailers not being at all fazed by this mysterious new virus and not worrying at all. If we had only known. The pandemic has been hard on everyone for different reasons. We are all in the same storm but in different boats. We cannot pretend that everyone was able to get through this year unscathed, but have there been any positive lessons that we could learn from it? And, how has the KBB industry weathered this hurricane?
