Fitted out to showcase the full global décor collection of 170+ genuine Swiss-made options, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the wealth of designs, colours and textures in MFC from this renowned panel products specialist available exclusively through IDS’s two dedicated UK Panel Hubs, IDS says. The show will also be the launchpad of a dedicated UK range of more than 90 decors in 18mm MFC, specially curated by IDS to meet the commercial and design needs of companies manufacturing kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture. With service and supply chain management never more important in the KBB sector, IDS will be promoting its flexible delivery service, which it continues to actively review and enhance in line with market demand.

KBBG Stand: K84


For the first time, KBBG (part of European kitchen and bathroom buying group Der Kreis) has invested in its very own branded stand at kbb Birmingham. In previous years, the buying group has partnered at the show with one of its suppliers on a co-branded stand, however in 2024, KBBG will be the primary exhibitor with elements from its suppliers included on the stand to bring the space to life. The stand will include a kitchen from Nobilia’s Vivari range.


Vivari is exclusively produced for the Der Kreis/KBBG buying group by the German furniture manufacturer. This is, says the buying group, a perfect example of some of the products that independent retailers gain access to by becoming a member of the KBBG.


Also being showcased on the stand is a bathroom, which will comprise furniture from Decosan, brassware from Ramon Soler and a Roman shower enclosure.


InSinkErator Stand: J84


Kbb Birmingham 2024 provides the first opportunity for the UK kitchen industry to discover the Next Generation of food waste disposers from InSinkErator. Over 90 years of innovation has brought the brand to this point. Continuously honing its products since their invention in 1927 by founder John Hammes, the Next Generation is the very latest milestone. Visitors to the stand can expect to learn how advancements in technology help to provide a convenient, clean solution for managing food waste.

Q: What are the main challenges facing your sector and how are you tackling them? A: There is no doubt that the cost-of-living crisis and inflation are proving a challenge for KBB retail businesses. A wider issue is an ageing population.

Manufacturers will need to consider this in their future product development and focus on multi- generational products. The ‘grey’ market consumer wants a product that is suitable for them, their visitors and family, but not obviously aimed at an older customer.


Sustainability is on many consumers’ minds. However, when it comes to purchasing, the initial


price versus the running costs must make sense. There is lots of confusion and misunderstanding around sustainability.


It is therefore crucial that manufacturers and retailers alike help consumers to understand the benefits of sustainable kitchens and bathrooms, both for the benefit of the household and for the future of the planet.
