Retailer pilots scheme to support businesswomen

A KITCHEN retailer in Hertfordshire has pledged to give back to her local community by hosting a series of events to help local businesswomen. Toma Navickiene (pictured left) hosted her first event at the store in December last year at her Potters Bar Kutchenhaus franchise, which she opened in February 2022. Navickiene is also set to launch her second Kutchenhaus store very shortly in Welwyn Garden City. The events will be run every three months and will welcome local businesswomen from different industries to attend, and will cover topics such as how to find the perfect client and make the most of social media.

The next event is scheduled for the end of March at the new Welwyn Garden City location.

Commenting on her first event, Navickiene said: “People

are relaxed when they’re in a kitchen chatting. It helps to remove nervousness as it’s a familiar environment, which is much more informal than a board room, for example. It feels very homely, and this is one of the reasons why I think it works so well.”

Elaborating on the scope of the events, she added: “At our women in business events, there will be set topics for each session, such as how to find your perfect client, or

New warehouse for Sanctuary Bathrooms

ONLINE AND bricks-and-mortar retailer Sanctuary Bathrooms is expanding its business with the opening of a new warehouse in Leeds. The company says the new warehouse, situated next to its existing unit, will enable it to cater for what describes as “remarkable growth” in online sales over the past few years, which has been driven by its new website. At just over 12,000sq ft, the new warehouse is almost double the capacity of the existing unit, which provides 7,000sq ft of storage. The extra space, says Sanctuary, will allow it to meet the growing demand for high-quality bathroom products from across the UK, as well as the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Channel Islands. The new space will also allow it to carry a broader range of products on-site and help it to achieve faster deliveries, including a next-day option. It says it will also help it refine and expand its ranges and enable it to import more own-brand products.

Director James Roberts said of the development: “The decision to invest in a large facility reflects our commitment to serving our dedicated customers better and meeting the escalating demand for our products. This expansion not only accommodates our current needs, but also positions us for continued success in the dynamic online marketplace.”
