Woodland Kitchens announces new strategic acquisition

NORTHERN IRISH kitchen, bedroom and bathroom furniture manufacturer Woodland Kitchens is set to become one of the largest cabinet producers in the UK following its latest acquisition. In a deal backed by growth capital investor BGF, Woodland Kitchens has acquired Dundee-headquartered JTC Furniture Group.

JTC is a manufacturer and supplier of fitted furniture, focused on the social housing and student accommodation markets, employing over 250 people in the Dundee area. It is said to represent a highly complementary acquisition for Woodland, with the partnership now making the company one of the UK’s largest cabinet producers. In a statement, Woodland Kitchens said the acquisition will allow both companies to capitalise on the benefit of

the Group’s newfound scale to

continue to enhance its product range and service levels to their respective customer bases.

Speaking about the deal Connor McCloskey, CEO, Woodland Kitchens said: “Woodland has enjoyed strong organic growth in recent years but we have kept one eye on strategic, additive acquisition opportunities. The part– nership with JTC was a move that made perfect sense in terms of scale, common values, capabilities and level of ambition. “JTC’s

strong presence and

longstanding customer base in the social housing, healthcare and student housing sectors, combined with Woodland’s own strengths in the distribution and large retail space, will allow both businesses to take a collaborative approach to further growth. We look forward to working with the team in Dundee.”

Wilko, the six styles reflect the UK’s most popular current kitchen designs. To reduce costs for consumers,

NATIONAL RETAILER Wilko has taken its first steps into the KBB retail market by launching an own-brand kitchen collection. The household and garden retailer has unveiled a range of six fully customisable self-assembly kitchens, which it says are being sold at an affordable price point. According to

Wilko also says that its kitchens all offer quick-assembly features, such as pre-inserted cams and dowels. Each of the cabinet doors also comes with a colour-matched reverse to ensure the design is co-ordinated. In August 2023, Wilko collapsed into administration after failing to secure a rescue deal, with 400 stores closing. However, the retail brand was eventually bought by CDS Superstores – which also owns The Range – with Wilko website returning online in October. Since then, Wilko has opened new retail locations in Plymouth, Luton, Exeter, St Albans and Rotherham, with another to open in Poole in the near future.
