SHOW REVIEW | EuroCucina
EuroCucina 2024 Trend report:
he kitchen industry’s most influential trade exhibition, EuroCucina, has taken place as part of the 62nd Salone del Mobile fair in Milan. The Salone del Mobile fair – which was held on April 16-21 in Milan – welcomed over 1,950 exhibitors from 35 countries. The show once again received a record turnout of 370.824 visitors, a +20.2% increase over 2023 figures. “The 62nd Salone del
Mobile.Milano has exceeded all expectations,” said Maria Porro, President of the Salone del
Mobile.Milano. “It has been a record-breaking edition. We recorded exceptional results, thanks to the trust of an ecosystem that, once again, recognised the event’s international leadership. With 370.824 visitors, the Salone is once again a unique event worldwide, an essential bridge with the new geographies of markets: an intercontinental city open to innovation, where competition accelerates the competitiveness of a key sector for the country’s economy and beyond. A great factory of meaning and lasting value, products and employment, material and immaterial culture.” This year’s Salone included the biennial EuroCucina / FTK, Technology For the Kitchen. Exhibitors that took part in this year’s EuroCucina included Bora, Asko, Beko, Bertazzoni, BSH, Eggersmann, Häcker, Nobilia, Nolte, Signature Kitchen Suite, Elica, Falmec, Scavolini, Schüller/Next125 and Smeg. In contrast to other years, this EuroCucina felt a little more conservative from an innovation perspective. Perhaps in line with current market conditions, there seemed to be less ‘wow’-factor design concepts and instead, much more practical functionality on display. This is far from a criticism – quite the contrary. The new products on display still captured the imagination with bold new finishes, new styles, and technical innovation but, importantly, everything seemed to answer a direct consumer need or demand. Here’s our round up of some of the key trends coming through:

Hidden storage
Not only do they offer clever storage solutions, but the hidden aspect also ensures the continuation of clean lines and minimalist style. For us, this was highlighted by Falmec’s Surface hood; Siematic’s SecretService (pictured) and SecretSpace and Scavolini’s BoxLife kitchen.
